Written and directed by Angie Wang, "MDMA" is an autobiographical period drama that offers the unique perspective of a working-class, Asian-American woman scrambling for status in a world of white, west-coast privileged. Angie Wang (Annie Q.) is a working-class girl who is forced by financial necessity to become an expert in making the party drug, Ecstasy, in the chemistry lab at her prestigious West Coast university.
