Russell Brand Slams Ex-Wife Katy Perry's 'Vapid' Lifestyle In Documentary
"Oh my f--king god. I'm living this life of the very thing I detest... vapid, vacuous celebrity," Brand says in the trailer, before the camera cuts to shots of the comedian and Perry. The couple were married for 14 months before divorcing in 2012. According to a UK paper, Brand tells pal Stephen Merchant in the feature that: "It's definitely good I'm with someone I love. But it's not a resolution to anything spiritual. This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I'm going to have to walk away." In an interview with Vogue a couple of years ago, Perry said she didn't see the split coming. "He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011." She later told Marie Claire that Brand wanted to have children but she's glad she didn't give in. "He really wanted me to have children, and I knew I wasn't ready," Perry said. "I think it was a way of control. I think it was part of, if I have a kid, then I would have to sacrifice -- I'd have to be at home more." Russell Brand slams ex-wife Katy Perry (photos
