Producer Says There Will 'Never' Be 'Friends' Reunion Movie

Executive producer Marta Kauffman, who produced 'Friends' for NBC, wants to put an end to speculation that NBC's mini reunion with the stars of the sitcom will pave the way for a movie.

At the Television Critics Association winter meeting, when asked about the NBC special, the co-creator of the popular hit told reporters: "I will say there will never be a 'Friends' reunion movie."

NBC is attempting to reunite the cast in what it is pitching as a tribute for sitcom director James Burrows.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt has said he's hopeful that he will be able to get Jennifer Aniston (photosJennifer Aniston photos), Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry in the same room together.

The special appears to have most cast members on board in one form or another. However, Matthew Perry probably won't be able to attend due to his role in London play, The End of Longing.

Perry's rep ended that hope almost right after Greenblatt made the remark.

NBC says it is hoping to have the cast "in one form or another."
