Larry David On More 'Curb Your Enthusiasm': 'I'm An Indecisive Fellow'
Speaking at HBO's panel at the Television Critics Association press event on Thursday to promote his HBO movie, David said he had not decided when he would do another season of the show. "That's not such a good question," David said when asked if he had made a decision on the ninth season. "I have not. I don't know. I really don't know. I couldn't say. Ask me in six months." "I'm just an indecisive fellow," he laughed when asked what was stopping him. "You should see me at a restaurants. It's a big decision to decide to do a season of that show. I don't take it lightly." David said it was between him doing another season or trying something different with 'Clear History', the TV movie he stars in for HBO. "I was thinking about Curb or thinking about doing a movie and I thought, you know, perhaps it's time I try something else so I decided to do the movie," he explained. "I was thinking of either doing one or the other. I just thought it was time to try something else." In the film, which he wrote, David stars as an executive who quite a start-up after a fight with his boss, played by Jon Hamm, only to discover the company is worth billions years later. "This was more like a Curb experience in that we were improvising it and I didn't have to worry about directing and I could just act. So on the set it was more fun." While there was an outline, the dialogue was improvised much in the style of 'Curb.' But director Greg Mottola says he didn't want to make it too similar. "The thing that kept me up at night was that the movie would be either too much like Curb or not enough like Curb," said Mottola. Although he did make one exception and include JB Smoove on the cast. "It's hard to say no to JB. Larry and JB together is pure gold." 'Clear History', which also stars Bill Hader, Eva Mendes (photos Even though nearly two years have passed since the last season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', Larry David says he's in no hurry to make a decision on the comedy's future.
