The 36-year-old brother of 'Inception' star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has died.

Dan was found unresponsive in his Hollywood home this week and while the cause of death is unknown, the is word that it may have been drug-related.

"It was initially reported to us as a possible overdose," explains Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. "There were two friends present and one of them also was taken to the hospital."

An autopsy has been performed, but the cause of death won't be determined released until the results of toxicology tests are in.

"My super hero brother 1974-2010," wrote Gordon-Levitt on Twitter, about his brother, who earned the nickname 'Burning Dan' because of his background as a fire spinner and his involvement in Nevada's annual Burning Man event.

"Burning Dan brightly embodied that bold beastly bliss sometimes referred to as 'the creative spirit. He would absolutely positively insist that we not let this bad news deter us on our collective mission. That said, I might not feel up to it for a little while."

"So let's celebrate him, he's f--king awesome," he added.
