John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Give $200,000 To Time's Up For USA Gymnasts
Teigen, who is expecting her second child with the singer, has been an outspoken supporter for the victims of USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nasser, who was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison last week. She previously offered to pay a $100,000 fine for McKayla Maroney if she spoke at the sentencing, since she would have broken her $1.25 million settlement NDA with USA Gymanastics. USA Gymnastics relented and said it would "not seek any money from McKayla Maroney for her brave statements made in describing her victimization and abuse by Larry Nassar, nor for any victim impact statements she wants to make to Larry Nassar." The donations to the Time's Up legal defense fund, which has raised over $19 million, go to providing "subsidized legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace and while in pursuit of their careers." Teigen rose to fame after appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The issue has inspired Sunwise Swimwear to create a new bikini and swimsuit line. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen (photos
