Jimmy Kimmel Apologizes For 'Kill Everyone in China' Joke

Earlier this week, ABC apologized for a skit on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' in which a boy suggested Americans "kill everyone in China" to help erase the US debt.

But with Chinese-American groups still protesting for an apology from the comedian himself, Kimmel finally addressed the joke made on Kid's Table.

"You know, today is a weird day," Kimmel said on his show. "There seems to be a lot of people upset with me, more upset than usual."

"I thought it was obvious that I didn't agree with that statement, but apparently it wasn't," he said. "So I just want to say I am sorry. I apologize. It was certainly not my intent to upset anyone."

"I'm here to turn frowns upside down," he concluded.

He also addressed protestors gathered outside the El Capitan Theatre, where he tapes the show.

"If I upset you, I'm very, very sorry," Kimmel told them. "I come to you with nothing but love in my heart. I'm a comedian, I was trying to make people laugh, I'm sorry that I did it."
