Heath Ledger Dead At 28, Found In New York Apartment
It's reported that at 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at the apartment in SoHo, for an appointment. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with pills scattered around his body. They shook him, but he did not respond. Ledger was just 28 and plays the Joker this year in 'The Dark Night', the sequel to 2005's 'Batman Begins.' His portrayal of the villain was already being called the best and 'scariest' Joker ever. He was also nominated for an Oscar for his role as Ennis in 'Brokeback Mountain.' Ledger also had a two-year-old daughter Matilda with his ex-fiancée Michelle Williams. It's reported that Ledger took his break-up with Williams last September very badly. A friend tells the UK's 'Daily Mail': "Heath was shattered by his split from Michelle. He became a recluse. He barely slept he was dealing with terrible mood swings." "She was very much in love with him, but the fact he continued to dabble in drugs kept their relationship from being one she could rely on. He adored his daughter Matilda, and when Michelle called it quits, he missed Matilda so much that he was thrown into a deep dark depression. Heath was living in New York to be close to his daughter. But he hardly ever ventured out anymore. Now poor little Matty is left without a father, and Heath has died a senseless death." This is certainly some shocking news coming out just a few minutes ago, as of 5 PM EST and certainly a big loss to the entertainment industry and, no doubt, Ledger's familly and friends.
Actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in a downtown Manhattan residence, and police suspect a possible drug overdose as a factor.
