Mark Zuckerberg Confirms Facebook Creating A Dislike Button

During the company's Q&A session on Tuesday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the social media network is in the process of rolling out a 'Dislike' button.

"I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years," Zuckerberg said.

"Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it."

Zuckerberg added he wasn't looking at the button as a way for users to vote down a status update. Instead, it would be meant for situations where a 'Like' isn't exactly appropriate.

"That isn't what we're here to build in the world," Zuckerberg said.

"What users really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment."
