Dr Luke Subpoenas Lady Gaga For Deposition in Kesha Lawsuit
His attorneys have filed a motion to interview Gaga in person because "she has relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr. Luke made to her by Kesha." "This motion has become necessary," they say, "because Dr. Luke's counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga." The attorneys want Gaga to hand over text messages between her and Kesha, in which Kesha allegedly told the singer she had been abused by Luke and asked her to join a "smear campaign" against him. "As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process," her representatives say in a statement. "Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga’s role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests." Kesha sued Dr. Luke in 2014, alleging he drugged, raped and verbally, physically and emotionally abused her for years as she sought to invalidate her recording contract with him. Gaga has publicly voiced her support for Kesha in the past. Dr. Luke's lawyers have subpoenaed Lady Gaga (photos
