Amy Winehouse's Husband Sentenced To 27 Months In Jail

Amy Winehouse's husband has been sentenced to 27 months in jail for assault and obstructing justice, after he pleaded guilty to attacking a pub owner in 2006 and then trying to cover it up.

The 26-year-old Blake Fielder-Civil, who is even crazier than Winehouse is, admitted to beating up the pub owner in a barroom fight and then offered him $400,000 to keep quiet about it by not showing up in court. The man suffered a fractured cheek bone, which required facial reconstruction surgery.

Judge David Radford called the behaviour "gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful" and concluded that Blake was "affected by drink and cocaine and that in that drunken and drugged state took part in this attack."

While it is a 27 month setence, the catch is that since Blake pleaded guilty, he will only have to serve half that. Since he has already spent almost nine months in jail since his arrest, he could be freed as early as December.

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil, 26, married in Miami in May 2007. He was arrested in November and has been in jail ever since. The singer has called for the release of 'my Blake' at almost each one of her recent concerts.
