Tyra Banks To Star In NBC's $1 Million Business Competition Series 'Funded'

Tyra Banks will return to television in NBC's business competition series 'Funded'.

NBC has greenlit the series that will pit start-up companies against each other for the chance at winning $1 million.

Funded will pair each company with one of three business mentors from former supermodel Tyra Banks to skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and health-food mogul Rohan Oza. At the end of each episode, the teams will pitch to a venture capitalist who will offer only one of the startups a $1 million investment.

It will be Banks' first major series since the end of 'America's Next Top Model'.

"I have spent my life encouraging people to BYOB -- Be Your Own Boss," she says in a statement. "Making everyday people's dreams come true is what I live for. Funded is the life-changing type of television power project that gets me pumped."

"We will enlighten and entertain audiences big time and encourage our viewers to attack their most outrageous goals with fierce determination."

Skirting around its similarities with ABC's 'Shark Tank', NBC calls it "the first business competition series built around an investment fund."
