Tom Petty Dead at 66 After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Rock legend Tom Petty has died. He was 66.

"He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived," Petty's longtime manager Tony Dimitriades confirmed in a statement.

"He died peacefully surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends."

The three-time Grammy winner was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

He performed his final concert just last week at the Hollywood Bowl.
