Tom Hanks: President Trump Doesn't Deserve To See 'Post' at the White House

Tom Hanks is speaking out against Donald Trump and says, if it were up to him, he wouldn't screen 'The Post' for the President.

The Steven Spielberg film, starring Hanks and Meryl Streep, tells the true story of The Washington Post and The New York Times working together to expose the Pentagon Papers, which revealed secret actions the US government took during the Vietnam war.

"I don't think I would," Hanks tells THR when asked if he'd screen the film at the White House.

"I would not have been able to imagine that we would be living in a country where neo-Nazis are doing torchlight parades in Charlottesville and jokes about Pocahontas are being made in front of the Navajo code talkers."

"And individually we have to decide when we take to the ramparts. You don't take to the ramparts necessarily right away, but you do have to start weighing things," he says.

"You may think: 'You know what? I think now is the time.' This is the moment where, in some ways, our personal choices are going to have to reflect our opinions. We have to start voting, actually, before the election. So, I would probably vote not to go."

'The Post' has been nominated for six Golden Globe Awards. It hits theaters on December 22.
