TJ Miller Won't Return To HBO's 'Silicon Valley' For Fifth Season
The actor known for his portrayal of blowhard entrepreneur Erlich Bachman and 'Silicon Valley' producers "have mutually agreed that TJ will not return for season 5." In their statement, producers add: "In Erlich Bachman, TJ has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations." News of Miller's exit comes hours after the comedy was renewed for a fifth season and while the official press release leaves room for fans of the series to believe Miller is leaving the show of his own accord, insiders say the decision was made by producers. In fact, Miller only learned of his fate after producers wrote him out of the show. "I heard that he got the finale script and found out his character had been written out," reveals reporter Kate Aurthur. "Kicked out for sure. That is what I have heard." Miller's film career has picked up considerably since his breakout role on the series. The comedian's first standup special with HBO, 'Meticulously Ridiculous', will air on June 17. 'Silicon Valley' co-star Kumail Nanjiani said he was "very sad" to see the end of Erlich Bachman" and called Miller "the funniest guy I've ever met." TJ Miller is leaving Silicon Valley and won't return for the HBO comedy's fifth season.
