'The Simpsons Movie' Rules The Box-Office
It sent last week's top movie, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," into second place with $19 million, and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" to third place with $17.1 million, both seeing drops of over 40 percent. The movie had the fifth best opening weekend of the year, even beating "Transformers" and "Ratatouille." It proved to be a big attraction internationally in the UK as well, earning Fox's second-biggest UK opening ever, after 2005's "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith." It also debuted as No. 1 in just about international every market it played. The complete top ten list for the weekend: 1. "The Simpsons Movie," $71.9 million.
