Stephen Colbert Jokes About Scalia's Dissent In Marriage Equality Ruling

Stephen Colbert isn't waiting for the 'Late Show' to premiere. The comedian has released a 'Colbert Report' style commentary on the landmark Supreme Court ruling about marriage equality.

The ruling gave same-sex couples the right to marry in all 50 states.

"If you're a homosexual and living in North Dakota, all your problems are solved! Enjoy Dakota pride week," Colbert joked.

"Wow, history moves fast. It's hard to believe gay Americans achieved full constitutional personhood just five years after corporations did."

"Of course, not everyone's celebrating. I'll let you guess which ones. Here's a hint," he said doing a pose from one of Justice Antonin Scalia's photos.

Colbert also referenced Scalia's fortune cookie remark in which he stated that the Supreme Court had "descended from the disciplined legal reasoning of John Marshall and Joseph Story to the mystical aphorisms of the fortune cookie."

"And he's right," said Colbert. "I've got a fortune cookie right here."

"The history of marriage is one of both continuity and change... in bed."
