Sorkin Confirms and Raves About Christian Bale Playing Steve Jobs In Biopic

Aaron Sorkin has confirmed that Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in his upcoming biopic on late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

"What we needed was the best actor," Sorkin explains to Bloomberg News.

"It's like the NFL draft. There are some people who make a science out of exactly the guys to draft a middle, inside linebacker who can do this... and other teams say, 'Who's the best athlete on the board.'"

"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range, and that's Chris Bale."

"I couldn't be more excited about him," Sorkin continued of Bale. "He really is a phenomenal actor... he didn't have to audition. It's an extremely difficult part."

"He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined. There isn't a scene or frame that he's not in and there's a tremendous amount of language. So it's an extremely difficult part and he's gonna crush it."

Other actors in the running are included Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

'Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle will direct Sorkin's adaptation of Walter Isaacson's 2011 biography.
