Soap Star Is New 'Knight Rider' For TV Movie, Possible Series

You'll recall we reported last month that NBC was working on a two-hour 'Knight Rider' movie, which would function as a pilot, for a 'Transformers'-inspired version of 80s hit 'Knight Rider'.

Today we have word that 'All My Children' actor Justin Bruening has been cast as the lead in the movie. If successful, it would mean a green light for the new series.

Bruening will play the son of Michael Knight, from the original 'Knight Rider' played by David Hasselhoff. Interestingly, Hasselhoff was also a soap star, in 'The Young & the Restless', when he landed the gig and roughly the same age.

Bruening has also appeared in recurring roles on 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live'.
