'Smallville's General Zod To Be Played By Callum Blue

'Smallville' has finally found its General Zod.

Producers confirm that British actor Callum Blue has been cast as the DC Comics supervillain.

Blue is best known for his role as Mason on 'Dead Like Me' and as Belle's boyfriend Alex on Showtime's 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl'. He also appeared on WB's short-lived series 'Related'.

General Zod, created by Robert Bernstein and George Papp, first appeared in DC's 'Adventure Comics' in 1961 but gained prominence when he appeared in the 1980 'Superman II' film, where the role was played by Terence Stamp.

The 31-year-old actor is expected to be a series regular as the show gears up for its ninth season. He will join Brian Austin Green, who will play Metallo.

Clark is expected to go down a much darker path this season after his dilemma last season with Doomsday.
