Sky Cancels 'Urban Myths' With Fiennes As Michael Jackson Following Outcry

Sky has decided to cancel the upcoming 'Urban Myths' episode featuring Michael Jackson after images of Fiennes as the singer caused public outcry from the family.

The episode centered around the road trip that Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando took with Jackson from New York City to Ohio after the September 11 attacks was scheduled to air on Sky Arts on January 19.

However, Sky has scrapped the idea after Jackson's daughter, Paris, said she was "so incredibly offended by it" and it made her "want to vomit."

"We have taken the decision not to broadcast Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, a half-hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson's immediate family," Sky says in a statement.

"We set out to take a lighthearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offense."

A petition had also been launched to boycott the episode with more than 20,000 signatures.

It adds, "Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision."
