Singer Mindy McCready Hospitalized After Suicide Attempt

Troubled singer Mindy McCready has been hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt, according to police.

"We responded to a '10-63,' that's a suicidal person call. Mindy McCready was at the house," Kris Mumford, a Nashville Police Department spokeswoman, tells the 'New York Daily News'. "Apparently she called the mother of her roommate and said some things that caused the mother concern. She called authorities. We responded with paramedics, who took her to a local hospital."

The police report says that they discovered that McCready had cut her wrists and taken several pills, and that she was "very intoxicated."

The singer, who had an affair with Roger Clemens when she was just a teenager, entered rehab over the summer after suffering a nervous breakdown.

But that didn't help and she was ordered to serve jail time after she was found guilty of violating a probation for prescription drug fraud. McCready was released from a Tennessee jail in October after serving half of her 60-day sentence.

A hospital spokeswoman says the singer is now in stable condition.
