Simpsons Quotes Added To Oxford Dictionary

In a testament to the popularity and influence of 'The Simpsons' on today's culture, the show has three new entries in the latest volume of quotations from Oxford University.

The new quotes added to the list from the show:

"Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is never try." - Homer

"Kids are the best, Apu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate. And they practically raise themselves, what with the internet and all." - Homer

"Bonjour, you cheese-eating surrender monkeys" - Groundskeeper Willie, in a reference to the French in a 1995 episode.

The quotes are credited to 53-year-old creator Matt Groening, although he doesn't actually write the scripts, and he is described as an "American humourist and satirist."

The third edition of the dictionary contains more than 5000 quotations from major figures of the past century.
