Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick Announce Arrival of Twins

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are the proud parents of twin girls delivered by a surrogate mother.

The couple say they are "delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters."

The twins have been named Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge Broderick.

"Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker's side," they explain. "The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon."

Last month, Parker complained that she was worried about the safety and well-being of the surrogate after her telephone and computer were hacked into and she received threats.

"We have been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so," the 'Sex and the City' star said of her decision to use a surrogate."

"This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us. It would have been odd to have made this choice if I was able to have had successful pregnancies since my son's birth."

"You can't express enough how much you think about decisions like this. We are fortunate the surrogate is strong, bright, independent, thoughtful, caring, gracious and generous."
