R-Rated and Re-Cut 'Anchorman 2' To Return To Theaters For One Week

Before the release of 'Anchorman 2', Will Ferrell boasted that producers had so much extra footage from the film that they could make a whole other movie.

Well, as it turns out, Paramount is doing just that.

The studio is releasing 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super Sized R Rated Version' to theaters in the US for one week beginning February 28. The film will feature 763 new jokes along with a different and much longer cut.

“When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I was shocked," says writer-director Adam McKay.

"But when Paramount said they were actually going to put it in theaters, I did an 1950's spit take. If you're a hardcore Anchorman fan go see this. If you're not, stay very far away."

'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues', released in December, has earned around $170 million worldwide, $124.5 million of that in the US.
