Rob Mariano To Star In History Channel Reality Show
The History Channel has announced that Mariano and four-time Monster Jam world champ Dennis Anderson will co-host its upcoming series 'Around the World in 80 Ways'. In the ten part series, Mariano and Anderson will challenge each other to make it around the world using 80 different methods of transportation without repeating any mode twice. "I think The Amazing Race gave me a foundation for traveling," says Mariano. "However, the approach that we are taking in Around the World in 80 Ways is completely different from anything I've done before in that this show will be a celebration of transportation throughout history." "This series captures History's commitment to highly compelling entertainment within a historical framework," says the network's Dirk Hoogstra. "The dynamic between our two hosts will make for great television, while viewers can journey around the world with them to explore the ingenuity of travel in every era, throughout all stages of technological advances." Mariano, a father to daughters Lucia Rose, 21 months, and Carina Rose, 4 months, will start production after the finale for 'Survivor: Redemption Island' on May 14. He's played four seasons of 'Survivor' but 'Boston' Rob Mariano isn't done with television just yet.
