Regis Philbin To Return To TV As Host Of Fox Sports 1 Talk Show

Regis Philbin has signed on to host a Fox Sports 1 talk show.

Nearly two years after his departure from 'Live with Regis and Kelly,' the 81-year-old will host the daily live talk show called 'Crowd Goes Wild' that will include celebrity interviews and a panel that will debate sports issues.

"We've got a nice little panel of people together, a lot of friends," Philbin tells the New York Post. "And if a celebrity like George Clooney comes to town with a movie, we'll play clips from his movieóbut we'll also talk to George, who grew up in Cincinnati, about his sports roots, like if he's still a big Reds fan."

"I'm happy to be part of sports TV. If you look at the ratings, that's what's on top. Sports is the biggest hit TV has these days. It's all there on the field, pal."

While Philbin wouldn't reveal the names of the panel, we're hearing it will consist of NFL star Trevor Pryce, tennis player Michael Kosta, Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Gay and Georgie Thompson from Sky Sports.

'Crowd Goes Wild' will air at 5 PM each weekday beginning August 19.
