Rainn Wilson: NBC Passed On 'The Office' Spinoff With Dwight

Rainn Wilson says NBC has passed on the spin-off around his 'The Office' character, Dwight Schrute, and his life on the family's beet farm.

"NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show," Wilson says on Twitter. "Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!"

Interestingly, Wilson made the announcement even before NBC. Possibly because the network doesn't want to make its decision on the project official until the pilot airs as an episode of 'The Office' later this season.

The comedy was to delve into Dwight's life on the farm running a bed and breakfast inn and working as a beet farmer.

The show had been in the works before NBC announced that 'The Office's current season, its ninth, would be its last.

But it appears Dwight Schrute fans will just have to get their fix on DVD.
