Princess Chunk: 44-Pound Cat Found Wandering New Jersey Streets

A 44-Pound white cat has been found wandering the streets of Camden County, New Jersey. The cat, which gives new meaning to the phrase fat cat, has been turned over to a shelter where she has been nicknamed 'Princess Chunk'.

"I have never seen a cat this fat in person, not even anything close to it. She is a big kitty cat," Jennifer Andersch of the Camden County Animal Shelter tells ABC news.

The kitty had to be weighed on the dog scale because the cat scale didn't go high enough. She's said to be just two pounds shy of a world record for being the largest feline.

The shelter had to move Princess Chunk to a foster home because because they didn't have a cage big enough. She's temporarily staying with animal lover Debbie Wright.

"She's a lug to pick up but she's a sweet cat," says Wright. "I pick her up and put her on my hip like a child... putting her in a dog crate, I have to put her in and get somebody to help me carry it. That's how heavy she is."
