Peter Capaldi Writes Christmas Letter To Sad 'Doctor Who' Fan

The 'Doctor Who' Christmas special that saw Jodie Whittaker make her debut as the thirteenth Time Lord also marked the end of Peter Capaldi's time on the series.

But the impending change in the Doctor hit a 9-year-old boy especially hard.

"Peter Capaldi is my 9 year old son's fav Doctor Who and he was dreading his regeneration," shared the boy's father.

"And then he got this letter with some words of comfort from the Doctor himself among his Santa presents. Such a kind man."

Capaldi's note described the regeneration process a "little bit icky" and "like really bad flu", but encouraged the boy to look on the bright side.

"The new doctor always becomes your favorite and the one that goes... well, he never really goes, he is always there, somewhere in time and space, and if you think about him hard enough you'll see him, and he'll see you," Capaldi wrote.

"It's like the Doctor says, 'Everything ends and it's always sad. But everything begins again, and that's always happy. Be happy.' So, have a brilliant Xmas, a happy new year, and a wonderful life — I'm sure you will."

The grateful father shared the entire letter for fans to see.
