NBC Picks Up Full Season Of 'The Blacklist'

NBC has picked up 'The Blacklist' for a full season.

After initially giving the freshman drama starring James Spader a 13-episode order, NBC has ordered the back nine episodes to bring its first season total to 22 episodes.

"The many layers of Red Reddington and his mysterious reasons for getting into bed with the FBI seem to be fascinating to fans of this show," says Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment.

"With great talent like James Spader and Megan Boone on board, as well our stellar executive producers and the whole cast and crew, we believe this outstanding series will continue to make NBC a big destination on Monday nights."

'The Blacklist' averaged an impressive 12 million viewers in its first two airings to top its time period against CBS' Hostages and ABC's Castle.

Meanwhile, Fox has announced renewals of 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'The Simpsons' for another season. ABC dropped the first axe of the season and cancelled 'Lucky 7' after just two episodes.
