NBC Orders More Episodes Of Time Travel Series 'Timeless'

NBC has ordered more episode to extended 'Timeless' first season to at least sixteen episodes.

The time travel series, starring Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter and Malcolm Barrett as time travelers whose aim is to protect history, is averaging 10.7 million viewers in Live+7 day ratings.

"Timeless is a phenomenal new show that takes the audience emotionally to a completely different place and time each week," says NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke in its announcement.

"We're thrilled to be ordering additional episodes so that we can run the final six hours of the season in a row with no pre-emptions after the new year."

"Our hats are off to Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan for producing one of the most ambitious new shows anywhere on television."

NBC has already picked up family drama 'This Is Us' for a full season of 18 episodes. 'Timeless' is expected to run in its Monday 10 PM timeslot until the end of February, when its new 'Taken' prequel series takes over the same slot.
