Natalie Portman's Reveals Baby Name Derived From Hebrew

Natalie Portman and fiance Benjamin Millepied think their newborn son is No. 1.

The couple, who welcomed their first child in mid-June, have finally settled on a name.

And the Israel-born actress has chosen to appropriately call her first born Aleph (sometimes spelt Alef), which is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and also represents the number 1.

In fact, Portman, whose maternal ancestors were Jewish, also had a Hebrew name growing up (Natalie Hershlag).

The 30-year-old actress met Millepied on the set of Black Swan, for which she won the Best Actress Oscar earlier this year.
