Moroccan TV Show Apologizes For Advising Makeup To Hide Abuse

A Moroccan TV show is apologizing after offering tips to female viewers on using makeup to hide signs of domestic abuse.

After a wave of criticism, the daily women's show 'Sabahiyat' admits the segment was an "error in judgment."

The segment "to show you makeup you can use to cover the bruises on your face" was ironically part of the program's nod to International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women.

Angry viewers are demanding that the country's Morocco's High Authority for Audiovisual Communications fine the program.

"Our concern is one: to defend women's rights. In the name of the Sabahiyat team at 2M, we present our apologies and sincere regret over the beauty segment aired, which was an error in judgment," a statement read. "We request your understanding and commit to being more vigilant and precise in each of our programs."
