'Mission Impossible's Rebecca Ferguson To Co-Star In 'Girl on the Train'

'Mission Impossible' standout Rebecca Ferguson has signed on to star in 'Girl on the Train'.

The big-screen adaptation of Paula Hawkins' best-seller, which has already lined up Emily Blunt, Tom Cruise's co-star in 'Edge of Tomorrow', has added the women at the center of 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation'.

Blunt will play Rachel Watson, the story's primary narrator, and Ferguson would play Anna, the wife of Rachel's ex-husband.

Rachel Watson is a 32-year-old alcoholic who takes the train to London every day to hide her unemployment from her roommate. Two years prior, she discovered her husband, Tom, was cheating on her, and he left her and married his mistress, Anna.

However, Tom cheated on Anna as well, with a third woman: neighbor Megan Hipwell. That role is yet to be cast.

After one such train ride, Rachel comes home covered in blood and unable to remember much. She soon realizes that she may have witnessed or been involved in a crime. It's been described as the next 'Gone Girl'.

'The Girl on the Train' debuted at number one on the The New York Times Fiction Best Sellers of 2015 list and remained in the top for 13 consecutive weeks.
