Michael Jackson Dead After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is dead. He was 50.

Jackson was taken to hospital after he suffered a cardiac arrest at his Holmby Hills home.

The singer was not breathing when paramedics arrived and they were unable to revive him, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The paramedics performed CPR and took the singer to the UCLA medical centre where the staff tried to resuscitate him again at the hospital but he was completely unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital in a deep coma.

The circumstances of Jackson’s death remain unclear and Los Angeles Police Department detectives have opened an investigation into the death, although they say there is no evidence of wrongdoing.

Michael Jackson was due to begin a series of comeback concerts with an appearance at London's O2 arena next month.

He was the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family, and is survived by his three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Blanket Michael Jackson II.
