Meredith Vieira Announces She's Leaving NBC's 'Today'

Meredith Vieira has announced that she will be leaving NBC's 'Today' show next month to spend more time with her family.

The 57-year-old Vieira replaced Katie Couric five years ago and has often spoken about wanting more time with her three children and husband.

"Even as I say this and I know that it's the right thing, I'm really sad," said Vieira, fighting back emotion.

"This is a difficult day for me. I'm trying hard to hold it together."

Ann Curry, who has been with the show for over a decade, will replace her as host of the top-rated morning show.

"I feel like the high school computer nerd who has just been asked to the prom by the quarterback of the football team," gushed Curry.
