Melissa Leo Drops F-Bomb While Accepting Best Supporting Actress at Oscars

'The Fighter's Melissa Leo got caught up in the emotion of winning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 83rd annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

"When I watched Kate two years ago it was so f--king easy," Leo said, as she realized she just dropped the F-word and covered her mouth. "Oops."

Leo was referring to Kate Winslet (photosKate Winslet photos), who won the best actress Oscar in 2009 for 'The Reader'.

Backstage, the actress told reporters that she didn't mean to offend anyone.

"I had no idea. This words… I apologize to anyone that they offended. There's a great deal of the English language that is in my vernacular. I really don't mean to offend and it's probably a very inappropriate place to use that particular word."

But that didn't stop Christian Bale from poked fun at his 'The Fighter' co-star when he accepted his award for Best Supporting Actor.

"I'm not gonna drop the F bomb like she did," he quipped. "I've done that plenty before," he said, referring to his infamous F-word tirade on the set of 'Terminator: Salvation'
