Melanie Griffith Checks Into Rehab, Claims It's 'Routine'

Everyone knows the importance of a good routine, and for Melanie Griffith, this apparently includes a trip to rehab.

This after Griffith is spending time in rehab once again. She was enrolled in a recovery program to treat an addiction to prescription drugs a few years earlier.

"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," says her publicist. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."

The 52-year-old, married to Antonia Banderas, is best known for her Oscar-nominated breakout role in 1988's 'Working Girl'. A movie after which she also entered rehab to battle alcoholism and cocaine addiction.

Tatum O'Neal said in her autobiography, 'A Paper Life', that Griffith had once pushed her into an opium-filled orgy.

"Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support," Griffith said on her website some time ago. "My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so."
