Matthew McConaughey Says He Cried Watching 'Interstellar'

Matthew McConaughey says he cried watching his latest film 'Interstellar'.

"I watched it, and I cried three times," McConaughey said of the Christopher Nolan directed film.

"Even if you don't care that much about the science of it or even the love story between a parent and a child, you just want to go for the wild, epic ride it is," he says.

The much anticipated film set in a near future where Earth has been devastated by drought, famine and extreme changes in climate, McConaughey travels across space and time to help save humanity.

The film not only provides stunning visuals but tugs at hearstrings with McConaughey's character, Cooper's, relationship with his daughter.

"There hasn't been a promise or a goodbye like Cooper has to go through with his daughter in this," he says. "I'm very fortunate: I get to take my family with me when I go to work, so my goodbyes so far haven't had to be so long."

'Interstellar' is set for release on Friday, November 7.
