'Making a Murderer' Season Two Likely Coming in Late 2017

'Making a Murderer's second season could premiere before the end of 2017.

Netflix has confirmed that, although it has not announced a launch date, it expects have new episodes from series creators Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi this year.

"Laura and Moira are shooting regularly and working on what the right story is to tell in the next set, so we're deferring to them on when it will be ready," VP Cindy Holland tells USA Today.

"Very few people inside of Netflix actually know the details of what we're getting because we're wanting to keep it really under wraps and it is an ongoing case so we're trying to be sensitive to that."

Of course, the case revolves around Steven Avery, who was convicted for the 2005 murder of photographer Teresa Halbach in the midst of his $36 million lawsuit against Manitowac County for wrongfully convicting him of sexual assault after serving 18 years in prison.

Avery has maintained he was framed and new attorney Kathleen Zellner has said she believes new scientific testing on the same evidence will free him.
