'Limitless' Officially Canceled and 'The Americans' Pegs Final Two Seasons

CBS has officially cancelled movie spin-off 'Limitless' after just one season.

At its recent upfronts, the network had indicated that it was looking to find another home for the series. However, showrunner Craig Sweeny has announced that won't happen.

"I'm truly sad to report that Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched," he says after reports that both Amazon and Netflix passed on a second season.

Meanwhile, FX's 'The Americans' will end after another two seasons. The drama, which is currently in its fourth season, has been renewed to let showrunners Joe Fields and Joe Weisberg complete the story.

"It's hard to believe we're heading into the final stretch on The Americans, and we're so grateful to know we'll be telling the story to its conclusion," they say in a statement. "It's a lot of people putting their hearts and souls into The Americans, at this point for a lot of years. We're looking forward to the final two."

FX adds: "Through its first four seasons, critics have lauded The Americans as one of the best shows on television and, remarkably, a series that keeps getting better every year. We have no doubt that this two-season order will allow Joe and Joel to tell this story to its perfect conclusion."

The fifth season will be comprised of 13 episodes while the final season will be wrapped up in 10 episodes.
