Leonard Nimoy To Finally Guest Star On 'Big Bang Theory'

'The Big Bang Theory' will finally be getting its dream guest star.

The actor, who played Vulcan Spock in the 'Star Trek' franchise, will voice a role as his character in the March 29 episode of the series.

The catch is he won't appear onscreen but instead influence Jim Parsons' Sheldon in a dream sequence.

"For years, we thought it would be fantastic to have Leonard Nimoy appear on the show and we think we've found a really different and fun way to make that happen," executive producer Steve Molaro tells THR.

"As thrilled as we are he's doing it, we're even more thrilled just to get our pictures taken with him."

Sheldon's obsession with 'Star Trek' and Spock has been well documented on the comedy over the seasons.

Fans will recall one of the few times Sheldon has hugged anyone came when Kaley Cuoco (photosKaley Cuoco photos)'s Penny gave Sheldon a napkin signed by Nimoy.

The character was also referenced in the show's 100th episode last month when Sheldon was upset after he received a life-size cardboard cut-out of Zachary Quinto's Mr. Spock, instead of the one played by Nimoy.
