LeAnn Rimes Breaks Down In Tears Over Homewrecker Label In Interview

LeAnn Rimes says she doesn't regret having an affair with Eddie Cibrian while they were both married, but she wants to make it clear it wasn't an easy decision to break up two marriages.

"I call it insanity! Absolute insanity," the singer says in an interview with E!'s Giuliana Rancic of falling for her TV movie co-star. "But nothing ever happened between us except for on camera, you know, during the film. Absolutely nothing."

"I had no idea what life was throwing me and I had no idea how to handle it. But all I knew was I could not... we couldn't stop connecting in some way. And it was the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life."

"I think I became numb," she says of when news of the affair went public. "Then I told everyone I should have told and then I curled up in a ball on the couch and then I didn't move. And I didn't move for a while. It's that feeling of your heart falling to the ground."

But Rimes doesn't like being called a homewrecker.

"I'm like, can someone come up with anything like more, I don't know, original?" she says.

Asked by Ranicic why "act on it when you're both married and you both have families?," Rimes breaks down in tears.

"That is a huge question. I never, ever in my heart want to hurt anyone," Rimes says. "No one . . . will ever understand how much thought and hurt, even towards each, other were put into our decision."

"But... I don't think anything can separate anything that's super-connected. You might have had so many wonderful things with each other's spouses in your relationship, but something along the way broke that. You can't break what's broken already."

"I wish it could've been better for me, for Brandi, for Dean, for Eddie and for everyone else," she adds. "I know in this situation it's going to take some time, all I wish is that everyone that was hurt, that we hurt, that I hurt, can be happy."
