Laura Vandervoort Appears At Comic-Con 2007

Laura Vandervoort (photosLaura Vandervoort photos), who will be playing 'Supergirl' in the upcoming season of 'Smallville' made her public first appearance for the show at the Comic-Con in San Diego.

"She's a combination of beauty, intelligence, a certain warmth, and great attitude," Smallville co-creator Al Gough said when she was cast. If you want know what you can expect from her character, check out our earlier story here.

The first is a promotional photo released by producers, with a Superman necklace, and the rest from her appearance at the convention.

Meanwhile, Allison Mack, who plays Chloe Sullivan, has announced that she will direct the 20th episode of the season to try something new:

“I am so intimidated! It's silly. I know that I have eight months to prep and that I have the most amazing crew of people around me that will do everything in their power to help me make something awesome, but getting past that ego that drives me has been a huge challenge,” she says. “Ignoring the voice inside my head that is screaming ‘You have no clue how to do this!' has definitely been a challenge.”

Michael Rosenbaum, who plays Lex Luthor, has also publicly said in recent interviews that this will be his final season on the show so expect things should pick up on that front as well.

Add that to the fact that Dean Cain will guest star on the show and other news coming from 'Smallville' producers, the upcoming season promises to be an exciting one.
