Larry Wilmore To Replace Stephen Colbert At Comedy Central
Called 'The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore', the writer-comic will feature a panel of voices discussing topics of the day. "It will provide an opportunity for the underrepresented voices out there," said Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless. "We are so excited to have a fresh idea for late night." The format was created and will be produced by Jon Stewart's production company. "While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan," Stewart joked. "I'm beyond excited to have this chance to continue my relationships with Comedy Central and the brilliant Jon Stewart," said Wilmore. "I love the city of New York and promise to only wear my Laker T-shirts when I'm layering." Larry Wilmore has written for everything from 'The Bernie Mac Show', 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', 'The Jamie Foxx Show' and 'The Office'. 'The Colbert Report' will wrap up its run this year. Larry Wilmore of 'The Daily Show' will replace Stephen Colbert when he moves on to take over David Letterman's 'The Late Show'.
