Kevin Hart Launches Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge

Kevin Hart is calling on his celebrity friends to donate to victims and relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey.

"I'm starting a real challenge," Hart tells his fans on social media, adding he will "lead the charge in stepping up this way."

"Instead of donating $25,000, I did $50,000."

Hart "calls out" several celebrities in his video to donate.

"Simply anybody right now who’s in a powerful position who can impact this issue through social media," he explains. "Let's really try to save some lives.”

"I think we’ve participated in a lot of challenges on the Internet. Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we've all done 'em. At this point this is a serious matter. I think that people are in bad shape and they need help. I'm going to lead the charge and step up this way."

Chris Brown took Hart's challenge and said he donated $100,000 to — the largest amount donated so far.

"Kevin Hart, I accept your challenge," Brown said. "We need to come together. I'm donating $100,000. So man, this is for everybody in Texas, the relief and everything."

"I implore and encourage everybody else, who can change and make a change for this, to please donate and help out."
