Kelly Ripa Brings Up Strahan's Divorces for Confused Reaction On 'Live'
Ripa, who returned to the show last Tuesday, kicked off Friday's live broadcast by bringing up a story from the New York Post that she tried to gently walk into. "There's a great article in the paper and I want to get your take on it, because I don't have a take on it. But I want yours," Ripa said. "So you've gotten divorced." The 44-year-old Strahan looked to the camera with a confused expression and shook his dead as the audience laughed. "The article is nonspecific, but they're saying it's either the greatest plan ever or the dumbest plan ever," Ripa continued. "It's called 'bird nesting,' where instead of, you know, how you separate and then, you know, the children have to go between the parents." "This is keeping the kids in the house and the parents rotating in and out of the house. To me, it sounds like a disaster. It also sounds like something only rich people could do." "If I'm sharing my house with my ex and she can get in with a key, I'm definitely locking the door," Strahan then responded. "I don't know. I couldn't do that. No, no, no. We might as well stayed married and just went through everything we're going through." Strahan has been married twice. He was married to Wanda Hutchins from 1992 to 1996 and Jean Muggli from 1996 to 2006. Earlier in the week, during an animal segment, Kelly Ripa also made a contract negotiations joke directed at her co-host, who is leaving the show this month -- well ahead of his original plan.
