Kelly Ripa Got Note From School Over Colbert's Book With Stripper Pole

Kelly Ripa (photosKelly Ripa photos) has a bone to pick with Stephen Colbert over his book about Poles.

Ripa recalls the story in which a Pole tries to find his place in the world and discovers he can't work as a stripper pole because he couldn't take the grind.

"He goes to school where the primary focus of the education is really learning how to read," she said of her son, who dyslexic. "If you master so many books, you can bring in a book of your choice and the teacher will read the book out loud to the class."

"He sends it back to me and says, 'The teacher wouldn't finish reading the book,'"

"I think I know why," Colbert said with a grin.

Ripa then showed the page that read: "I interned as a stripper pole but I couldn't stand the grind."

The teacher sent the book home with a note explaining that while it was funny, it wasn't appropriate.

"This is still the greatest school memory we have," she laughed. "Nowadays, parents are so careful and they're so good at parenting and I became that mom."
