Kelly Preston Credits Scientology For Overcoming Son's Death

Kelly Preston credits Scientology for getting over son Jett's death.

Preston and John Travolta's 16-year-old son died in 2009 after a seizure-related incident while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas.

"To be honest, it was the Scientology Center," the 48-year-old tells 'Health' magazine. "I don't know if I would have made it through without it."

She says the tragedy taught her "love your kids like it could be the last moment" and "don't sweat the small things."

"I've always wanted to be a mother, ever since I was 11," she explains. "I was doing commercials for thousands of dollars, but I'd still babysit for $3 an hour just because I loved it."

Kelly, who was briefly engaged to Charlie Sheen but ended the relationship shortly after he accidentally shot her in the arm, says she's happy to be living a clean and drug free lifestyle.

"There was this fallacy in Hawaii, where I grew up, that pot's not addictive, and that it's natural, and all this other B.S. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. I've done all of that. And now, I live a really clean life."
